Maurice J. "Moe" Pepin, 68, of Smithfield, died November 16, 2020 in Roger Williams Hospital, Providence, a victim of COVID-19. He was a son of the late Maurice O. and Pauline (Brodeur) Pepin. Moe was one of the most positive people, always smiling and willing to help.
Moe was a 1970 graduate of Mount Saint Charles Academy, 1973 graduate of RI Radio and Electronics, 1978 graduate of RI School of Electronics, and 2012 graduate of Sanford-Brown Institute's Pharmacy Technician Program. In his early career, he worked as an instructor at RISE Institute of Electronics. Moe went on to hold project management positions at various lottery companies. Most recently, he was the general manager of the New Hampshire State Lottery for Scientific Games.
During his years at GTECH Corporation, Moe traveled the world. He visited five of the seven continents and spoke about the highlights of his trips to other countries, such as Malaysia, Spain, New Zealand, and Singapore. When asked about his favorite place, Moe would happily reply "Hawaii".
Moe was an avid golfer, bowler, and fisherman and loved music and singing. In his younger years, he played drums and sang in a band. Since then, he loved to sing karaoke and listen to bands. Moe acted and sang in a theater group when he lived in New Hampshire. He loved to cook for and socialize with family and friends.
He leaves his son, Marc Pepin, and his wife, Jenny, of Franklinton, NC; his brother, Robert Pepin of Woonsocket; his sister, Jeanne Bonin and her husband, Gary, of Woonsocket; two grandchildren, Juliet and Oliver Pepin; two nieces, Angela Desaulniers and Emily Bonin; and two nephews, Daniel and Timothy Pepin.
His funeral will be held Friday, November 20, 2020 at 10 AM in Holy Trinity Parish, 1409 Park Ave., Woonsocket, and may be viewed live at https://client.tribucast.com/tcid/77373563. Burial will follow in St. Jean-Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham, MA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association - National Capital Area Chapter, 8180 Greensboro Drive, Suite 400, McLean, VA 22102.
