Michael (Mike) Aridano devoted husband, father, Pepere, and brother was called to his eternal resting place on Thursday, February 20th in North Smithfield RI.
He was the dedicated husband of 62 years to the late Pauline Aridano; son of the late Albert and Antoinette Aridano (Santoro); brother to the late Frank (wife, Louise), Sheila (husband, Roger), and Kathy. Father of David (wife, Susan), Robert (wife, Nikki), and Mark (wife, Joanne) and the late and greatly loved Anthony and Angela; dedicated grandfather of Nick (wife, Nicole), Casey (husband, Matthew), Alexis, Vince, and Julie.
Mike’s greatest pleasure was doing God’s work by helping others. He loved his career as a Firefighter in Woonsocket for 22 years. Mike was a Big Brother, volunteered at McAuley House in Providence and received recognition with Pauline by being awarded Northern RI, CYO and St. Agatha’s volunteers of the year. He was very proud of the fact that he gave blood 123 times and even encouraged many people in his life to donate as well. His love for sports and volunteering lead him to coach little league baseball, CYO basketball and play for men’s basketball and softball leagues throughout his adult life. Mike was an Army National Guard member and belonged to the American Legion Post 85. He was a loyal and reliable person and will be deeply missed by those who were lucky enough to be in his life.
His funeral will be held Thursday, February 27, 2025 at 9AM from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM in St. Agatha's Parish, 34 Joffre Ave., Woonsocket. Burial, with Military Honors, will follow in St. James Cemetery, Old River Rd., Manville. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4-7PM.
