Muriel L. (Courtemanche) Badeau, 89, of Woonsocket, died October 24, 2025 in The Friendly Home. She was the beloved wife of Robert Badeau, who together celebrated 66 years of marriage on May 30th. Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Irene (Frigon) Courtemanche.
Muriel worked for Jacob Finkelstein & Sons as well as various local department stores including Social Department Store, McCarthy's and Burlington Coat Factory. She enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowers, and countless day trips with her husband. She was a homemaker at heart, who could often be found cooking and caring for her family. A woman of deep Christian faith, she was a communicant of St. Joseph’s church in Woonsocket for over 60 years.
Besides her husband, Robert, she leaves her children, Karen Spear and her husband, James, of Bellingham, Kenneth Badeau and his wife, Sharon, of Woonsocket, and Kevin Badeau and his wife, Lisa, of Cumberland; her brother, George Courtemanche of Concord, NH; her 8 grandchildren, Michael Spear, Alyssa Spear O'Grady and her husband Christopher, Corey Badeau and his wife Katherine, and Ryan, Matthew, Isabel, Olivia and Nicholas Badeau; two great grandchildren, Parker and Ellie. She was predeceased by her brother, Roger Courtemanche.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, November 6, 2025 at 10am in St. Joseph's Church 1200 Mendon Rd., Woonsocket, RI 02895. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, 314 Wrentham Rd., Bellingham. Arrangements are under the direction of the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph's Church.
