Nancy D'Anjou Obituary

On Saturday, January 24, 2026 Nancy V. D'Anjou, loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend passed away at the age of 70.

Nancy was a woman whose life was defined by kindness, creativity, and an endless capacity for love. Born in 1955 to Violette Roy of Manville, and the late Norman Roy, Nancy grew up alongside her sisters, Lynne L'Heureux and Linda Duffy, in a family rooted in the values of hard work and devotion to one another - values she carried with her every day of her life.

From the age of five, Nancy knew her calling. With small hands and a big heart, she lovingly placed pin curls in her grandmother's hair, beginning a lifelong passion for hairdressing. That passion grew into a career, and eventually a dream fulfilled when Nancy opened her own hair salon-located in a building rich with family history - once her father's gas station/auto shop and, before that, her great-grandfather's blacksmith shop. In that space, Nancy did far more than style hair; she built a sense of belonging and community.

Nancy was a devoted mother to her children, Monique Kalaskowski and Daniel D'Anjou, and a cherished mother-in-law to their spouses, Robert Kalaskowski and Emily D'Anjou. She was an adoring grandmother to Talia and Reya Kalaskowski, and Everly and Easton D'Anjou. Time spent with her grandchildren was her greatest joy-whether playing, laughing, or simply being together. She also found comfort and creativity in crocheting, crafting warmth into every stitch, much like she did in her relationships. Nancy also deeply loved cooking, especially for her family. Even the briefest visit often ended with freezers filled - weeks' worth of meals left behind as a quiet expression of her love.
Nancy married Raymond D'Anjou with whom she had two wonderful children. She later found companionship and joy with her partner, Joe Roberts, who shared in her later years.

Effortlessly kind and full of energy, Nancy seemed to have an endless well of generosity. She gave freely of herself-her time, her talents, and her love-always in service of others. She was a loving mother, a caring grandmother, a loyal partner, and a bright, compassionate presence to all who knew her.

Nancy's legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the family she cherished, and the love she gave so freely. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
