Normand Girard Obituary

Normand W. Girard, 98, of Blackstone, MA, passed away November 8, 2024 in Blackstone Valley Health and Rehab. He was the husband of the late Marie (Robbins) Girard. Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Wilfrid and Theophyta (Hogue) Girard.

Normand was an WWII Army Veteran. He worked in the shipping and receiving department at Millipore Waters Associates in Milford for ten years, before retiring in 1993, previously having worked for Whitins Machine Works in Whitinsville. Normand played as a pitcher for the Phillies AAA affiliate, later becoming the first little league coach in Blackstone.

He is survived his son, Charles E. Girard, and his wife Deborah of North Smithfield; three daughters, Michaela Marcotte and her husband Dennis, Martha Gibson and her husband John, and Norma Armstrong and her husband Walter, all of Blackstone, MA; ten grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Renaldo, Albert, Rosario, Horace, Charles, and Daniel Girard, Cecile Mullery, Beatrice Leduc, and Lillian Girard.

His funeral will be held Saturday, November 16, 2024 beginning with visitation from 9:15 - 10:15 AM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 S. Main St., Woonsocket, RI, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM in Divine Mercy Parish, 48 St Paul St, Blackstone, MA. Burial will follow in Blackstone Cemetery, Mendon St., Blackstone, MA.
