Peter Potemri

Peter Potemri, 86, husband of Ann (Wunderlin) Potemri for 62 years, died peacefully on the morning of January 16, 2025.

Born in New York City, NY to Anna (Maliczyszyn) and John Paul Potemri, Peter grew up in New York, graduated Brooklyn Tech High School, and briefly attended Hunter College, before enlisting in the U.S. Air Force. He served as an Airman 1st Class, responsible for radar and radio communications.

Peter was employed as a field engineer in Maryland for the Bendix Corporation before changing his career to consulting and sales of printing and bindery graphic arts machinery. He became a regional representative for Miehle Goss Dexter and moved his family to New England in 1968, settling in Woonsocket, RI. He completed his B.S. Degree at URI in 1974, continued his career in sales and, ultimately started his own business, PJP Graphics, for consulting, liquidation, and resale of equipment, keeping him busy well into his seventies.

Peter loved to travel, play golf, and ride wooden roller coasters (whenever he could find one!). He lived a big life and reveled in telling detailed stories of his adventures. His greatest love was his wife and bride, Ann. His greatest joy was his children’s successes and their children’s successes. He considered himself blessed to be involved in their lives.

Besides his wife, he leaves five children, John and his wife, Sanine, of Holliston, MA, James and his wife, Dianne, of Avon, MA, Barbara Hudon and her husband, Roland, of Harrisville, RI, Joseph and his wife, Pamela, of North Stonington, CT, and Edward of Woonsocket, RI; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; a sister, Anita (Potemri) Pastier and her husband, John of Milford, DE and their four children and their families; as well as, his lifelong best friend, Joseph Plummer and his wife, Ann, of Burke, VA.

His funeral will be held Thursday, January 23, 2025 beginning with visitation from 9 - 10:15 AM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM in St. Agatha's Church, 34 Joffre Ave., Woonsocket. Burial, with Military Honors, will follow in St. James Cemetery, Manville.
