Ralph A. Briere, Sr., 84, of Woonsocket, passed away July 6, 2024 in the HopeHealth Hulitar Center, Providence. He was the husband of Jeanne (Guilbeault) Briere to whom he was married for sixty-five years. Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Raoul and Jean "Esther" (Evans) Briere.
Mr. Briere was a United States Air Force Veteran and worked for the Town of Blackstone in a variety of capacities, including in the Fire Dept., Police Dept., Water Dept., and finally, as the Superintendent of the Public Works Dept. He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots, and NASCAR. Ralph enjoyed spending time at his home on Scarborough Beach, but above all else, he loved being around his family.
Along with his wife, Jeanne, he is survived by his children, Barbara J. Chavez and her husband, Juan, of Santa Rosa Beach, FL, Melissa A. Garneau and her husband, Anthony, of Malone, NY, and Elizabeth E. Mandeville and her husband, Camille, of Glendale, RI; a sister, Mae Choiniere of Surprise, AZ; eight grandchildren, Timothy Doyle and his wife, Suzette, Meaghan Bruneault and her husband, Michael, Ralph Briere III and his wife, Stefanie, Shylah Camara and her husband, Souleyman, Brandi Briere, Alex Garneau, Aaron Garneau and his wife, Margaret, and Cole Ladieu and his partner, Hailey; and ten great grandchildren, Sage, Corran, Ralph IV, Ralph V, Lillian, Ella, Malick, Althea, Hayden, and Hudson. He was the father of the late Ralph Briere, Jr.; and brother of the late Doris O'Neill and Joan Briere.
His funeral will be held Thursday, July 11, 2024 beginning with visitation at 10AM, followed by a service at 11:30AM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket. Burial will be private.
