Raymond D. Flaherty, 85, of Daytona Beach Shores, FL. and formerly of Blackstone, died March 7, 2026 in Daytona Beach. He was the husband of Pauline (Marquis) Flaherty. Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Edward and Helena (Coffey) Flaherty.
Ray owned Murray Monument in Blackstone with his wife for over 30 years. He also was an structural engineer for Durastone Flexicore, Moliterno Stone Sales, Inc. and Kenneth Castellucci & Associates, where he took great pride in the buildings he designed. He spent many years at his beloved chalets in Maine and then New Hampshire where he would go fishing in his rowboat and enjoyed many family moments. He was always happy to head to breakfast for an egg white omelet with or without family and friends. Most especially he loved spending time with his grandsons.
Along with his wife, Pauline, he is survived by their daughter, Erin Joyce and her husband Stephen, of Upton, MA; his sister, Maryrose Heffern of Siesta Keys, FL; and his grandsons, Jared, Ronan and Stephen III. He was predeceased by his brothers, James and Edward Flaherty.
