Raymond Guy, of North Smithfield, passed away April 14, 2026, at the age of 88, just three days after his birthday. He was the husband of the late Peggy (Bedard) Guy. Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Leandre and Alice (Duguay) Guy.
Raymond was a United States Marine veteran. He played hockey and baseball, enjoyed polka dancing, and walked six miles a day around his birth city of Woonsocket. For most of his career, he worked in the Parts Department for the Chrysler Corporation and later at the Dunkin Donuts warehouse. Above all, Raymond was most at home at the beach, soaking up the sun with his wife Peggy. In fact, every year they drove to their second home in Vero Beach, FL for the winter. Anyone who knew “the Guys,” knew there was never a shortage of laughter or love when they were together.
At his core, Raymond was a devoted father and grandfather. He is survived by his three children: Tracie LaChapelle, Tammie Pessia, and Brian Guy; and his four grandchildren: Lindsay, Jenna, Paige, and Kara. He was the brother of the late John Guy, Constance Beauregard, and Madeline Brien. Raymond's warmth, humor, and unwavering devotion to his family will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Private funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
