Raymond Pontbriand Obituary

Raymond R. Pontbriand, 86, of Manville, passed away January 20, 2026, at The Holiday Retirement Community, surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in Manville, he was the son of the late Paul and Mary Ellen (Savoie) Pontbriand.

Raymond was the former owner of the Harmony Café in Manville and served for 25 years as an inspector for Gorham's Silver in Providence. He was a volunteer firefighter with the Manville Fire Department, a member of the Woonsocket Elks Lodge No. 850, and a member of the Manville Sportsman Club. A true outdoorsman, Raymond loved fishing, boating, clamming and quahogging, and had a deep affinity for the ocean, riding the waves and spending time on his motorcycle. He treasured time with family and friends.

He is survived by his daughters, Pamela Authier and her husband Gerry of Johnston, and Joanne Storrs and her husband Robert Storrs, Jr., of Charlestown; two grandsons, Curtis Storrs and Alexander Storrs; his nephew, Marcel Pontbriand; his niece, Michelle Lopez; and his cousin, Lucille Fenson. He was the brother of the late Marcel Pontbriand. 

His funeral will be held Wednesday, January 28, 2026 beginning with visitation from 9-10 AM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM in St. James Church, 33 Division St., Manville. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association online at www.heart.org or to Hope Health Hospice, 1085 North Main St., Providence, RI 02904.
