Rene R. Pincince, 75, of Woonsocket, died July 11, 2021 after a celebration of his life, filled with music, memories and singing with loving family and friends surrounding him at home. He was the caring husband of Diane (Choiniere) Pincince of Woonsocket. Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Elphege and Jeannette (Plouffe) Pincince who nurtured and inspired his love for music!!!
Mr. Pincince received his Masters in Education Administration from Rhode Island College in 1967, and was an educator for the Woonsocket School System, beginning as a 6th grade teacher, before switching to 5th grade for the majority of his career at Citizens Memorial Elementary School. Rene was a communicant of St. Josephs Church, Woonsocket, where he immensely enjoyed his time as the choir director for forty years creating a very special musical bond with members of the parish. During that same period, he also faithfully served as the churchs Music Director.
Along with his devoted wife, Diane, he is survived by his wonderful, loving children, Michelle Pincince and her wife, Laurie Diorio, of Ivoryton, CT, David Pincince, and his wife, Donna, of Somersworth, NH, and Charles Grenier and his wife, Bethany, of Lincoln; his friend and sister, Denise Forget and her husband, Robert, of Woonsocket; as well as, eleven loved and cherished grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Marc Pincince. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews which he cherished.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, July 17, 2021 at 2pm in St. Josephs Church, 1200 Mendon Rd., Woonsocket and may be viewed live online at https://client.tribucast.com/tcid/2299508152 Burial will be private. Calling hours are Friday from 4 - 7pm in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket. Memorial contributions in Renes name may be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168.
