Rhoda Elsie Mowry, 84, of North Smithfield, died January 8, 2024, at Miriam Hospital surrounded by her family. Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Stanley Mowry, Sr. and Dorothy (Lapham) Mowry.

After leaving the nursing profession, she attended Rhode Island College earning both her bachelor's (1992) and master's (1993) degrees in social work.

Rhoda was an active member of Smithfield Monthly Meeting of Friends for many years serving as Clerk of the Meeting and Clerk of Ministry and Counsel. She also served at the regional level as clerk of what was then known as Rhode Island Smithfield Quarterly Meeting and she served for many years on New England Yearly Meeting's Permanent Board.
