Richard A. Godin, 82, of Lincoln and formerly of Woonsocket, passed away January 21, 2025 in Roger Williams Hospital, Providence. He was the husband of the late Vivian (Bergeron) Godin. Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Alberic and Rina (Fafard) Godin.
Mr. Godin served in the Army National Guard with the 118th Combat Engineers, and worked as a machinist and tool maker for Whitinsville Machine Works. Richard was a member of the Italian Workingmen's Club, and was an avid fan of the New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox, Boston Bruins and NASCAR. He was also an outdoors enthusiast that enjoyed hiking, fishing, canoeing, and rubber rafting in New Hampshire.
Richard was residing at the Atria Lincoln Place for the last two years and recently received the "Life of the Party" award. The family would like to thank the entire staff for the compassionate care that Richard received during his time there.
He is survived by his son, John Godin and his wife, Betsy, of Stonington, CT; a sister, Jo-Ann Godin and her spouse, Suzanne Laplante of Warwick; two grandsons, Christopher Godin and his wife, Kayla Russo, of Hamden, CT, and Mitchell Godin and his wife, Holly, of State College, PA; and a great grandson, Theo Godin.
His funeral will be held Friday, January 31, 2025 beginning at 9 AM from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in Precious Blood Church, Carrington Ave., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Wrentham Rd., Bellingham. Calling hours are Thursday from 4 - 7 PM.
