Richard Lapierre Obituary

Richard C. Lapierre, 83, of Melbourne, FL, formerly of Woonsocket, died November 1, 2024, in his home. He was the husband of the late Estelle (Beaudet) Lapierre, whom he married November 4, 1967. Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Arthur T. Lapierre, Sr., and Rena (Jacob) Lapierre.

Mr. Lapierre served in the Army in Africa during the Vietnam War. He worked as a laborer in both MA and RI until his retirement. Mr. Lapierre was one of the best duckpin bowlers in the area. He loved music, and above all, his grandchildren.

He leaves his daughter, Lisa Gaulin, with whom he lived; two brothers, Arthur Lapierre, Jr. and Raymond Lapierre; five grandchildren, Victoria, Ashly, Stephanie, Laura, and Bryan Gaulin. He was predeceased by his daughter, Christine Lapierre, his brother, Roland Lapierre and three sisters, Delores Languirand, Constance Bogdan, and Lorraine Krajczynski.

His funeral, with Military Honors, will be held Saturday, December 14, 2024, beginning with visitation at 9AM in St. Agatha's Church, 34 Joffre Ave., Woonsocket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692, or to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116-7023.
