Ricky J. Vaillancourt, 66, of Millville, passed away January 10, 2025 in Brigham & Women's Hospital, Boston. He was the husband of Alison (Martinetty) Vaillancourt whom he married September 15, 1991. Born in Laconia, NH he was the son of the late Joseph and Eleanor (Abbott) Vaillancourt.
Mr. Vaillancourt worked in maintenance for a local elderly housing complex, was recently working for Community Builders in Uxbridge and Millville, and previously worked in production for ATP, North Smithfield, and Technic Inc., Woonsocket. Ricky was a friend to all, a kind and generous man who was always willing to lend anyone a helping hand. He was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus, enjoyed his 2005 Mustang, listening to Blues music, playing his guitar, and in his younger years he was a proclaimed "Pin Ball Wizard". Most important to Ricky was spending time with family and friends, he cherished his yearly wedding anniversary trips with his wife Alison. Whether it be inviting people over for cookouts or camp fires, visiting family and friends in Laconia, and spending time with his cherished dog Rosie.
Along with his wife, Alison, he is survived by his son, Cameron Vaillancourt of Millville; two brothers, Thomas Shaftoe and his wife, Dr. Linda Bassett-Shaftoe, of Nashville, NC, and Scott Biedugnis of Framingham; two sisters, Amy Tofani and her husband, John, of Framingham, and Laura Tognacci of Sudbury, MA; his Godson, Matthew Pawlowski of Millville; his "honorary sibling" with whom he held a special bond, William Labonte and his wife, Renee, of Rochester, NH; as well as, several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Robin Wing.
His funeral will be held Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 10AM from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM in Divine Mercy Parish at St. Paul's Church, 48 St. Paul St., Blackstone. Burial will be private. Calling hours are Friday from 4-7PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Blackstone Regional Animal Shelter, 14 Chestnut St., Blackstone, MA 01504.
