Rita M. (Archambault) Marcotte, 98, of North Smithfield, died December 3, 2017 in St. Antoine Residence. She was the wife of the late Adolphe Alphee Marcotte. Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Merilda (Robillard) Archambault.
Mrs. Marcotte was a homemaker and a member of the Ladies Society of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, as well as, an M.S. Society member, and avid seamstress.
She is survived by two daughters, Simone Moore and her husband John of North Smithfield and Dee Marcotte of Smithfield; a son-in-law, Normand Peloquin, of North Smithfield; a sister, Lucille Lajoie of Lincoln; eight grandchildren, Denise Allard, Celeste Chretien, Michelle Amadei, Jennifer Hall, Tom Ernest, Jeff and Casey Dee Marcotte, and Krystal Shippee; and eight great grandchildren, Ashley, Dana, Emily, Jocelyne, Allison, Dylan, Olivia and Bennett. She was the mother of the late Lucie Peloquin and Rita Papa and sister of the late Albert and Alfred Archambault, Juliette and Jeanette Gauthier.
Her funeral will be held Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 9AM from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM in Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, 1409 Park Ave., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Manville. Calling hours are Friday from 5-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Antoine Residence, Patient Activities Fund, 10 Rhodes Ave., No. Smithfield, RI 02896.
