Rita (Langlois) Ravenelle Kappelle, 90, of Blackstone, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on May 24, 2024 in The Friendly Home, Woonsocket. She was the wife of the late Robert Ravenelle and Pierre “Ray” Kappelle. Born in Burrillville, she was the daughter of the late Leo N. and Marion (Charette) Langlois.
Rita enjoyed working as an activities assistant for the Beverly Nursing Home, Fort Pierce, FL, retiring in 1996, and previously worked for the former Langlois Hardware in Blackstone. She was a communicant of St. Paul's Church, where she was an active member and proudly served as a Sparkling Angel and will be remembered as a hard worker.
She is survived by her five children, Debra Garceau and her husband, Richard Grudzinski, of Groton, CT, Richard Ravenelle and his wife, June, of Blackstone, Cathy Caron and her husband, Victor, of Westerly, Cindy Beauregard and her husband, Ed, of Wrentham, and Dottie Gallagher, and her husband, Tom, of Blackstone; two brothers, Normand Langlois of Millville, and Leo Langlois of Woonsocket, two sisters, Beatrice Forget of Uxbridge, and Jeannette Laplume of Millville; seventeen grandchildren; and nineteen great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Ernest Langlois, Leon Langlois, Alberta Cassidy, Wilfred Langlois, and Romeo Langlois.
Her funeral will be held Monday, June 3, 2024 beginning with visitation from 9 - 11 AM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Noon in Divine Mercy Parish at St. Paul's Church, 48 St. Paul St., Blackstone. Burial will follow in St. Paul's Cemetery, Farm St., Blackstone. Memorial contributions in Rita’s name may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
