Robert Bergeron, Sr. Obituary

Robert L. Bergeron Sr, was born in 1941 in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. He passed away peacefully while surrounded by his family who loved him deeply on December 2, 2025.

Born to Louis and Ruth (Darling) Bergeron, Bob lived a life rooted in loyalty, tradition, and showing up for the people who mattered most. He was the beloved husband of Jennie (Losardo) Bergeron and was rarely far from her side over 61 years of marriage. Together, they shared many happy years camping all over New England.

He was the proud father of the late Robert L. Bergeron Jr. He is also survived by his daughter-in-law Rachel Bergeron. He was a devoted grandfather to Emily Murray, her husband Derek, and Matthew Bergeron, and a very proud Great-Grampie to Olivia and Camden Murray. These roles meant everything to him.

He is predeceased by his brother Louis Jr. and also survived by his sisters, Diane Barbaria of Massachusetts and Judy Kicia (Richard) of Florida. Bob cherished his friendships, especially his close bond with his Sunday Funday crew, Claire and Bill, as well as the lifelong friends and neighbors who supported him and Jennie over the years with kindness, care, and friendship.
To his family, Bob was the keeper of memories. He was always the one behind the camera at holidays and gatherings, making sure every moment was saved. But just as often, he was putting on a little show or saying something just to make people laugh. He loved seeing others giggle, especially the kids, and found joy in creating moments, not just capturing them. His humor was warm, playful, and unmistakably him, and it filled rooms in an unforgettable way.

Bob worked as a CNC machinist for 21 years at Carlin where he created lifelong friendships and memories, especially with Bobby Faford. Bob found joy in trips to Pennsylvania Dutch country and his favorite hobby was building his model train layout. He was also a proud United States Army veteran and carried that pride throughout his life.

True to the way he lived, Bob spent his final moments surrounded by love. His presence, his stories, and the memories he so thoughtfully captured will live on through the generations of his family.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at the Friendly Home, especially Heather and Jen, for all the care and support they gave Bob and his family in the time they needed it most.
