Robert H. Cooke, 82, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on May 19, 2024, just five days before his 83rd birthday. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Ernest and Gertrude (Murphy) Cooke. He was a lifelong resident of Smithfield.
Robert worked as a house painter for more than 50 years. He was an avid bowler, and made many friends.
The family would like to extend a thank you to the nurses and staff at Hebert Nursing Home, Smithfield, for all their loving care, and a special thanks to Gentiva Hospice for being there in the time of need.
He leaves his daughter, Darlene Taylor, and her husband, Norman of Chepachet; his son, Robert Cooke and his wife Katrina Romanoff of Groton, MA; his grandchildren, Zachary Taylor and his wife, Ariel, and Pamela Taylor and her husband, Shaun O'Donnell, all of Burrillville; two great grandsons, Ethan and Wyatt Taylor; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his longtime girlfriend, Ellen Underwood, and his siblings, Richard and Ted Cooke and Ginny Carnivel.
At the request of the family, all funeral services are respectfully private, and under the direction of the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket.
