Robert "Bob" P. Madden, 64, of Woonsocket, passed away May 6, 2024 in Landmark Medical Center. He was the son of the late John and Margaret (McDonald) Madden.
Born in Chelsea, MA, Robert moved to Woonsocket in 1988 to help his brother, John, establish a diner. He worked there briefly and then went on to work as a warehouse worker at CVS for 20 years. More recently, he was a security guard at Woonsocket Housing Authority. Robert loved to go fishing and golfing and was an avid Bruins and Red Sox fan. He had a heart of gold and was always there for his family. He remarkably helped raise and support countless people during his life, providing them housing and food during difficult times.He will forever be remembered for his big heart, sense of humor, and outstanding 4th of July cookouts.
Robert is survived by his brothers, John R. Madden of Lincoln, and James M. Madden of Cohasset, MA; his sisters, Donna M. Joyce and Linda A. Madden, both of Malden, MA, his former spouse Robin (Paul) Madden of Woonsocket, and several nieces and nephews.
His services will be held Monday, May 13, 2024 beginning with visitation at 4 PM followed by a service at 6:30 PM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 S. Main Street, Woonsocket. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions or donations may be made to Ocean State Recovery Center, 1524 Atwood Ave STE 244, Johnson, RI 02919.
