Robert F. Smith

Robert F. Smith, 77, of Topsham, ME, passed away peacefully February 27, 2025 in the Bedford Hills Center, Bedford, NH. Born in Nuremburg, Germany, he was the son of the late Leon and Herta (Eizenarms) Smith, and loving father to Erin Nourse and Elizabeth Smith.

Mr. Smith worked in safety control for Frito Lay. Robert was an avid New England sports fan, enjoyed the beach, and liked attending concerts. He loved caring for his grand dogs, enjoyed playing cribbage, and loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his two daughters, Erin Nourse and her husband, Brad, of Swansea, MA, and Elizabeth Smith and her partner, Dan McHugh, of Nashua, NH; a twin brother, Leon Smith, Jr. of Topsham, ME; two sisters, Herta Klaman of Ft. Myers, FL, and Linda Smith, of Harpswell, ME; and two beloved grandchildren, Julian and Caroline Nourse.

His funeral will be held Thursday, March 6, 2025 beginning with visitation at 10 AM followed by a service at 11 AM, in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, Smithfield Rd., North Smithfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Woonsocket Animal Shelter, 9 Cumberland Hill Rd., Woonsocket, RI 02895.
