Rodolph Sheahan Obituary

Rodolph Tracy Sheahan Jr. passed away on May 24, 2026, two weeks shy of his 92nd birthday. Born in Woonsocket, Rudy was the son of the late Rodolph and Mary Sheahan.

A graduate of LaSalle Academy and the Rochester Institute of Technology, Rudy had a 45 year career at Sheahan Printing, working alongside his father and brother, Paul.

Rudy was proud of his service in the Army's 78th Armored Artillery Battalion, 2nd Airborne Division, serving in Germany from 1954-1956.

In another life Rudy would have been a farmer. Over the years there were sheep, pigs, a Hereford Holstein steer named Brownie, a 1950 Ford 8N tractor and freezers full of vegetables. In 1979 he gave in to pressure from his family to install a swimming pool. In nineteen years, he never, willingly, swam in that pool; swimming pools did not have quahogs.

Rudy will be missed by his surviving family and friends: His wife, Helene, of 61 years, his brothers, Paul and Richard, his daughter, Elizabeth, and sons, Michael, Peter and Timothy, and his ten grandchildren, Alexandra, Jamie, Brad, Abby, Chloe, Hazel, Beatrice, Holton, Isla and Lydia.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026 at 11AM in St. John the Evangelist Church, 63 Church St., Slatersville. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations in his memory to the North Smithfield Fire and Rescue Service, 1470 Providence Pike, North Smithfield, RI, 02896
