Roger Ballou Obituary

Roger L. Ballou, 93, of North Smithfield. He was predeceased by his wife, Elaine (Keenan) Ballou, who just passed away on February 27. They were married on November 23, 1957. Born in Woonsocket, RI, he was the son of the late Cyril and Catherine (Ballou) Lemieux.

After graduating from Dean Junior College, Roger was employed by the Tupperware Corporation for twenty-five years, as an industrial engineer and retired as an Assistant Plant Manager for Tupperware in 1988. He was also a Korean War Veteran serving in the United States Air Force. In his retirement, Roger took up wood working and made a variety of items for his family and friends.

He is survived by three children, Martha Roberts, wife of the late Richard Roberts, Roger Ballou and his wife Rhoda, and Jennifer Duhamel and her husband John; six grandchildren, Christopher Roberts and his wife Jessica, Katherine Morin, Thomas Strange, Jo-Anne Duhamel, Ryan Ballou and his fiancée Kelly Gardner, and Justine Scoran and her husband Troy; two great-grandchildren, Sophie Roberts, and Noah Morin; two brothers; John and Jeffrey Ashworth, and a sister Edna Sacs. He was preceded in death by his brother, James Ashworth, and sister, Catherine San Soucie.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Divine Mercy Parish (previously known as St. Paul's Church), Blackstone, MA on Saturday, May 2 at 10am. Inurnment will follow in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Divine Mercy Parish, 48 St Paul Street, Blackstone, MA, 01504. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket, RI.
