Roland R. Hemond "Bonhomme", 92, of North Smithfield, died March 30, 2025 in the Holiday Retirement Home, Manville. He was the husband of Theresa (Robert) Hemond, whom he married September 3, 1956. Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Jean Berchmans "Leo" and Rose (Carreau) Hemond.
Roland worked for Tupperware, Wrentham State School, and the deli at Stop and Shop. He was stationed in Japan while serving in the Army during the Korean War. Roland enjoyed walking, bowling, and watching all sports, especially when his grandchildren participated.
Besides his wife, Theresa, he leaves two daughters, Elizabeth and Diane, both of North Smithfield, and step-daughter, Ofelia, of Burrillville. He was the proud Pepere to three grandchildren, Dillon (Christine), Chelsea, and Stephanie (Josh), and Papi to three great grandchildren, Dean, Delaney and Caleb. He was predeceased by two brothers, Gilles and Roger Hemond.
His funeral will be held Monday, April 7, 2025, beginning with visitation from 8:15-9:15 AM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 S. Main St., Woonsocket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in Holy Trinity Parish, 1409 Park Ave., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland.
