Rose (Dellascio) Cotnoir, 99, of Lincoln, and formerly of Woonsocket, passed away January 10, 2025 at The Lighthouse at Lincoln, two weeks before her 100th birthday. She was the beloved wife of the late Leo Cotnoir. Born in South Boston, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Mary (Falconetti) Dellascio.
In her younger years, Rose and Leo lived in Boston and Virgina while he served nine years in the Army. They made their final home in Woonsocket where they lived for over fifty years. She was a talented seamstress and would sew for her girls and their friends for generations.
Most import to Rose was her family, weekends visiting relatives with Leo and the girls, mystery rides, and summer weekdays driving the girls to the lake and shopping excursions. Summer nights, she and Leo would take long walks with their dog, Lady. Her home was always open to their friends and neighbors.
She loved to read and instilled in her daughters a lifelong passion for books and newspapers. School and good grades were very important. In later years her daughters would visit most days after work for tea and pastry. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by two daughters, Elaine Kozak (Walter), of Plainfield, CT, and Jane Cotnoir of Pawtucket; five grandchildren, Matthew Marchand (Maureen), Daniel Marchand (Lindsay), Andrew Marchand, Michael DeFevers (Sandra), and Leo DeFevers (Michelle); nine great grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter and best friend, Marie Marchand; two brothers, Philip and Alphonse Dellascio; a sister, Christine DeFord; and her son-in-law, Edward Marchand.
