Ruby A. (Kelly) Flynn, 92, of North Smithfield, died July 17, 2024 in Smithfield Woods. She was the wife of the late Donald Flynn, whom she married April 16, 1954. Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Lavona (Mackenzie) Kelly.
Ruby worked as a switchboard operator for Verizon. She enjoyed shopping, and spending time with her family. She was an avid reader.
She leaves her children, Nancy Carlton and her husband, Joseph, of Smithfield, Timothy Flynn (Rebecca) of North Smithfield, and Maryann Koenig and her husband, Thomas, of Harrison, Ohio; six grandchildren, Joseph Carlton, Jr. and Evan Carlton, Tayla and Tara Flynn, and Ryan and Meghan Koenig; her great granddaughter, Eliza May Carlton; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Patricia Flynn, Dorothy Hazelton, Mona Coleman, Mary Uralowich, and Charlotte Danis.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday, July 23, 2024 beginning with visitation at 10 AM, followed by a service at Noon in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Charles Cemetery, Blackstone. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
