Russell V. Ferrenti, 63, of Woonsocket, died April 18, 2025 in Tufts Medical Center, Boston. He was the husband of Anne-Marie (Menoche) Ferrenti, whom he married July 27, 1996. Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Claire (Piette) Ferrenti.
Mr. Ferrenti was a 1979 graduate of Woonsocket High School. He worked for Avery Dennison for 20 years. He later volunteered directing traffic in the Bernon Heights Elementary School parking lot. Russell loved to play baseball and softball, and collected baseball cards for many years. He was a diehard New York Yankees fan and wore his Yankees gear daily with pride. He loved watching westerns, gritty police shows, and, of course, Yankees games. He never failed to serenade family and friends on their birthdays with his "golden voice". He dutifully supplied anyone who asked, or didn't, with the upcoming weather and loved planning and hosting parties for family and friends.
Besides his wife, Anne-Marie, he leaves their children, Austin M. Ferrenti and his husband, Ningsheng "Taylor" Tan of Vancouver, British Columbia and Elizabeth A. Ferrenti of Woonsocket; his brother, Michael Hardy of Woonsocket; two sisters, Lynn Ferrenti of Mount Juliet, TN and Vicky Ferrenti of Lewiston, Maine; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Kenneth, Robert and R. Donald Hardy.
His visitation will be held Wednesday, April 23, 2025 from 4-7 PM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Cure Alliance (thejdca.org).
