Sheila E. (Theroux) Cardin

Sheila E. (Theroux) Cardin, 81, of North Smithfield, died November 9, 2023 in The Friendly Home, Woonsocket. She was the wife of Wilfred F. Cardin, whom she married February 13, 1960. Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Edith (Brennan) Theroux.

Sheila was a 1959 graduate of Woonsocket High School. She owned and operated Dairy Whizz Drive In Restaurant in Uxbridge for 14 years, along with her husband. She later did the clerical work for their business, Cardin Tax Service, and had previously worked for Dennison Manufacturing Co, Framingham, MA.  Sheila was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church. She enjoyed 22 years at their winter residence in Venice, FL, bowling, cooking, and her cats.

Besides her husband, Wilfred, she leaves their daughter, Sharon A. Cardin-Prochniak and her husband, Peter, of North Smithfield; her sister, Sandra L. Keegan of Marlborough, MA; her grandchildren, Vincent Lepore, III, and Nathaniel, Ethan, and Abigail Cardin-Prochniak; and her nephew, Michael Keegan. She was predeceased by two sons, Daniel J. and David A. Cardin.

Her funeral will be held Tuesday, November 14, 2023, beginning with visitation from 9:15-10:15 AM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM in St. John the Evangelist Church, 63 Church St., Slatersville. Burial will follow in St. Theresa's Cemetery, Nasonville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011, or to the Friends of North Smithfield Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 653, Slatersville, RI 02876.
