Shirley M. Clough

Shirley M. (Ashworth) Clough, 82, of North Smithfield, died Thursday, April 29, 2021 in her home. She was the wife of the late Ernest Clough, III. Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Georgianna (Boucher) Ashworth.

Shirley was a Co-owner of the family business, CC Garage in North Smithfield, as well as raising her family. She loved traveling, camping and going to Lake George, being around her family and friends, and any animals, but especially cats.

She is survived by three sons, Keith Clough of North Smithfield, David Clough and his wife Karen of Johnston, and Glen Clough and his wife Kassia of North Smithfield; one daughter, Debra Keene and her husband Richard of North Smithfield; seven grandchildren, Kimberly Leahy, Richard Keene, Jason, Karlene, Hillary and Joell Clough and Melissa Dixon Florio; and seven great grandchildren, Axel and Olivia Leahy, Cameron and Lacey Clough, Alanna and Mitchell Dixon, and Eli Florio.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, May 8, 2021 at 1PM in Union Cemetery, Smithfield Rd., North Smithfield. Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to North Smithfield Animal Shelter, 281 Quaker Hwy, North Smithfield, RI 02896.
