Stephen C. Hoyle, Jr.

Stephen "Butch" C. Hoyle Jr., 77, of North Smithfield, RI, went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 31, 2024. He was in his childhood home with his loving wife. Born in Woonsocket, RI to Stephen and Frances (Sargent) Hoyle.

Fervent in his faith in Jesus Christ, he served his church as a deacon and treasurer. He often shared testimonies about the joy from the Lord, regardless of any hardships. Steve worked for many years as a computer programmer and designer. He enjoyed spending time with family at their cottage in Ludlow, VT, attending antique car shows, and rooting for the Green Bay Packers. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.

Steve is survived by his wife of 47 years, Wendy; three sons, Stephen C Hoyle III, Joshua D Hoyle and his wife Jessica, and Matthew T Hoyle and his wife Haiying; six grandchildren, Tyler, Caleb, Sydney, Lily, Bruce and Jacob; and a great-granddaughter, Giovanna. He was the brother of Patricia Zimmerman, Adria Sartrys, and Albert Hoyle.

A memorial service will be held June 28 at 11:00 a.m. at Renaissance Church, 184 Broad St., Providence. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Asia For Christ Ministry, Inc, PO Box 6872, Providence, RI 02940. There will be a private burial in Ludlow, VT. Arrangements are under the direction of the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket, RI 02895.
