Tammy Roy Obituary

Tammy M. Lamberto Roy, 48, of Woonsocket, passed away May 31, 2024 at home with her family by her side. She was the loving wife of Noel Roy, Jr., for fifteen years. Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of Paulette (Giguere) Lamberto and Raymond Lamberto, and his wife Priscilla, all of Woonsocket.

Tammy was a 1993 Woonsocket High School graduate. After graduating she went to Rhode Island College, where she earned her master's degree in education. Tammy's twenty year career as a special education teacher began at Leo A. Savoie Elementary. She later moved to Globe Park Elementary, and also worked as a PASS worker for the Seven Hills Foundation in Woonsocket before retiring in 2017. She loved to spend time with children. A lifelong Woonsocket resident, Tammy dedicated her life to her family, friends, and community. Her passion and energy were both infectious and inspiring, creating a lasting impression on so many lives. She truly embodied hope. Tammy battled cancer on and off for the last twenty years, fighting courageously, and living each moment to the fullest. She enjoyed scrapbooking, going to the beach, camping, and traveling, especially her trips to Sedona, AZ. Tammy loved to sing, and dance, and adored being a "dance mom". Above all, she loved spending time with her family and friends the most.

Along with her parents Paulette, Ray, and Priscilla, and her husband Noel, she is survived by their daughter Mia Roy of Woonsocket, their two sons, Nick Roy, and his wife Melissa, of Pascoag, and Shayne Roy of Utah; her brother, David Lamberto, and his wife Mary Lou, of Burrillville; her two sisters, Tina Gelinas, and her husband Irwin, of Woonsocket, and Sheila Leahy, and her husband Steven, of Orlando, FL; four grandchildren, Aidan Lemek and Avery Roy, both of Pascoag, and Adrianna and Quincey Carter, of North Smithfield; her uncles, Robert Giguere of Woonsocket, and Oliver Giguere of Blackstone, MA; her aunt Gertrude Champagne of Woonsocket; many nieces and nephews, who were like her own children, and numerous friends.

Her funeral will be held Monday, June 10, 2023 at 11 AM in Saint James Baptist Church, 340 S Main St, Woonsocket. Calling hours are Sunday from 1-4 PM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main Street, Woonsocket. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation, 249 Roosevelt Ave. Suite 201, Pawtucket, RI 02860.
