Theodore Chaplin Obituary

Theodore Ronald "Ronny" Chaplin, 69, of Woonsocket, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2026, at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center in Providence.

Born in Woonsocket, Ronnie was the beloved son of the late Theodore Chaplin and Mary (Dandy) Chaplin Watson, and the stepson of the late James Watson.

Ronny dedicated many years to working in hospitality, serving at The Miriam Hospital and the Rhode Island Convention Center. He also worked as a bartender at The Gallery and the Swiss Hotel, where his charisma, warmth, and larger-than-life personality naturally drew people to him.

In his earlier years, Ronny shared his musical talents by playing piano for local weddings and community events. A proud and devoted servant of his community, he was deeply committed to honoring and celebrating its culture and people.

He was also active in St. James Baptist Church throughout his life, singing in the church choir during his younger years and most recently serving on the church's 70th Anniversary committee honoring his beloved late mother, Mary.

Ronny leaves to cherish his memory his longtime companion, Richard Schull of Woonsocket; his beloved nephew, Seth Imani James Chaplin of Woonsocket; and a host of extended family members, dear friends, and loved ones whose lives were enriched by his presence.

He was predeceased by his beloved sister, Stephanie Chaplin.

Ronny lived life unapologetically on his own terms. He was bold, vibrant, authentic, and unforgettable - Though Ronnie's earthly journey has ended, the joy, flavor, laughter, style, music, and love he poured into others will remain forever.
