William A. Gravel, 70, of North Smithfield, died January 2, 2024 at home surrounded by his children. Born in Millville, MA, he was the son of the late Normand and Mary (McNamara) Gravel.
Bill worked at Alternatives Unlimited (now Open Sky) out of Massachusetts for 39 years. He created and was the Director of the Career Resource Center in Milford, MA and dedicated his life to helping others. He loved nature, animals, going to the beach, and most of all, music. Especially going to concerts.
He is survived by his son, William Gravel and his wife, Sarah, of North Smithfield; his brother, John Gravel and his wife, Dolores, of Woonsocket, and his nephew and godson, Joshua Gravel and his wife Stephanie. He was predeceased by his siblings, Thomas and Ann-Marie Gravel, Stephen Clarke and Kevin Bligh.
His funeral will be held Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at 9 AM from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main Street, Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Holy Family Church, 414 South Main St, Woonsocket. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, Smithfield Rd., North Smithfield. Calling hours are Monday from 4-7PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Smokey Chestnut Farm, PO Box 407, Norton, MA 02766.
