William Hebert Obituary

William L. Hebert, 88, of Woonsocket, died March 1, 2021, in The Friendly Home, Woonsocket. He was the husband of the late Janet (Minot) Hebert. Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Leon and Lillian (Recore) Hebert.

Mr. Hebert was a Marine Corps veteran, serving in the Korean War. He worked for the City of Woonsocket Highway Department for 28 years, retiring in 1992, and had previously worked for the Draper Corporation, Hopedale, as a steelworker, and for Gramolini Gadoury, building houses. Mr. Hebert attended St. Theresas Church, Blackstone.

He leaves his brother, Arthur Hebert of Woonsocket; his sisters, Gloria Van Moerkerque and Jeanne Gigure, both of Woonsocket; and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Alfred, Leon, Joseph, Ralph, Marcel, Julian, and George Hebert, Lillian Languirand, and Celia Lataille.

A graveside service with military honors will be held Monday, June 28, 2021 at 11 AM in Union Cemetery, North Smithfield. Arrangements are under the direction of the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket.
