William Kennedy Obituary

William G. Bill Kennedy, 59, of Blackstone, passed away on July 31, 2021 in the Hope Health - Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center, Providence, after an illness. Born in Woonsocket, RI, he was the beloved son of the late Richard W. and Joan (Garrity) Kennedy. He was a lifelong resident of Blackstone.

Bill attended the Blackstone school system. He worked at various businesses in the trades. He was an avid sports fan, and loved baseball. Bill was a survivor of multiple challenges, and taught all who knew him to continue to persevere through life.

He is survived by his brothers, Peter J. Kennedy, and his wife, Ann Marie of North Smithfield, RI, Richard E. Kennedy, and his wife, Mary Ellen, of Upton, MA, and Edward P. Kennedy, and his wife, Jana R. of Phoenix, AZ; and many nieces, nephews, and grandnieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Vincent J. Kennedy, and his partner, Roberta DeAcetis .

His funeral will be held Tuesday, August 3, 2021, beginning with visitation at 9:30 AM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM in St. Pauls Church, 48 St. Paul Street, Blackstone, MA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hope Health Hospice, 1085 North Main St., Providence, RI 02904.
