William (Bill) Meers, 81, of Blackstone Ma, passed away Sunday June 9, 2024. He was the beloved husband of Suzanne (Gendron) Meers of sixty years. Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late James and Mary (Grady) Meers.
Bill worked in construction as a carpenter and specifically site manager for H.W. Barss throughout his career. Bill served in the United States Air Force for four years as a Fire Specialist. Known affectionally as “Pops “ by his grandchildren and friends. Family meant everything to Bill, whether he was watching his grand children’s little league baseball games, youth hockey games or traveling to Cape Cod, New Jersey or Hawaii. Bill loved to cheer on all New England Teams and was an avid reader.
Along with his wife Suzanne, he is survived by his children, Kevin Meers and his wife Debbie and their children Devin and Connor of Kaneohe, HI, Michael Meers and his wife Sherry, and their children Samantha and Sean of Cumberland, and Scott Meers of Bloomsbury, NJ; his sister Mary-Karolyn Bois of Woonsocket. He was the father of the late James Meers.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, June 17 2024 at 10:30AM at Divine Mercy Parish, 48 St Paul St Blackstone, Ma. Burial services with military honors will be private. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket.
